Today was a public holiday in New Zealand and, as it was a nice winters morning, my wife and I went for a walk on the mountain.  We are members of the Taranaki Alpine Club and today the club celebrates the birthday of its lodge high on the slopes of Mount Egmont/Taranaki so we headed up to the lodge and back to join the celebrations.

We walked in from the Stratford side of the mountain as it was a more scenic route and I took these photos on the way.
