Power Plant

Power Plant

While teaching a group of students I took them to a reserve called Meeting of the waters, it is where an outlet from a small local hydro-electric power plant meets the main river.  Usually there is plenty of raging water coming down the river from the power plant which makes it an ideal place for the students to use a slow shutter speed to show the movement of the water.

On our arrival I was disappointed to find the river with almost no flow in it at all as they must of diverted it from the power plant.  As we explored the area we found that this provided more opportunities than we expected and I discovered this view of the power plant reflected in the still waters.

When I went back the next morning to take some more photos the river was back to full flow and the chance to repeat this shot was gone.
